One family, four generations

A timeless welcome. Tenuta il Poggetto: where the beauty of Chianti meets family hospitality.
A Tuscan retreat: the estate and its history
The history of Tenuta Il Poggetto is closely linked to the Bordoni family, whose tradition and passion for the land have been handed down for generations. In the 1940s, with the first generation, agriculture was characterised by the mixed cultivation of olive trees, vines and wheat on a single plot of land. In the 1970s, the planting of the first vineyard, called “vigna vecchia” (old vineyard), marked the beginning of a long winemaking tradition. In the 1990s, the family began building their home, where they initially moved, and invested in agriculture by planting four more vineyards and a new olive grove, enriching the natural environment of the estate.
In 2010, with the death of their parents, the Bordoni family (third and fourth generation) began a new phase, keeping alive the values and traditions of the area. The two apartments, ‘La Loggia’ and ‘La Terrazza’, were converted into tourist accommodation: ‘Tenuta il Poggetto’ was born. The new business became a destination for lovers of nature and serenity, offering an immersive experience in the beauty of Chianti.

Beautiful small home in Radda in Chianti. Location felt very private with views that look like they were from a postcard. Host was wonderful on meeting to show us the place and gave a great list of restaurants in town and activities in the area. They even had bottles of wine from their home vineyard that was great to have in the evenings outdoors. Could not have been happier with the home. Would definitely come back.

Staying at Tenuta's place was like stepping into a piece of heaven. The picturesque surroundings and incredible views created a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. August was very hot, but thankfully the AC provided much-needed relief, allowing us to unwind comfortably after our daily adventures. The charming town nearby was both cute and quaint, offering delightful early morning coffee, delicious lunches, and unforgettable dinners. We explored several wineries and visited numerous towns during our stay, but none had the character and warmth that this place exudes. Tenuta's place truly stands out, blending serenity with the vibrant culture of the region. We left with memories of sunsets over rolling hills and the taste of local wines lingering on our lips. A perfect stay in every sense, we can't wait to return!

If you are looking for the center of the Chianti region this is a perfect spot! City center is an easy walk and the restaurants are fabulous! We used this as a "base" as went out and back every day. Beautiful area and our host was always very responsive. The loggia is perfect. Just off the road and amazing views!! We definitely recommend il Poggetto. We will be back!!
